Achille Castiglioni, Industrial Design, Triennale de Milano, Italy, 1954
The preparation of the large hall dedicated to the exhibition of industrial forms “Industrial Design” It has been solved by means of extreme simplicity, which translate into a kind of refined expressionism. The color chosen for the walls (black-caffe-soot) and the exclusion of any velarium, so that the shed industrial roof was visible, built in 1932 by Giovanni Muzio, clearly alludes to the industrial environment. Castiglioni proposes a neutral environment coming almost to the annulment of spatial spatial limits, and highlighting only the horizontal surfaces, the floor and the exhibition floors, appropriately enhanced with the dual system of natural and artificial lighting.
