Le Corbusier, cases in serie for craftmens, France, 1924

Those houses have been imagined by Le Corbusier to answer this problem: house artisans in a large workshop (free wall of 7m x 4m 50) very enlightened. Decrease the expense by removing partitions and doors, reducing by a game of architecture, the usual surfaces and heights of the rooms. The house is built around a single column, empty in the inside made of steel concrete. Undoubtedly, walls are Isothermal ones.

Throughout the house, there is only two doors. The diagonal orientation of the loft allows the ceiling to develop in its entirety (7m x 7m); the wall also shows its largest dimensions and, moreover, one creates by the diagonal of the loft an unexpected dimension: this small house of 7 meters imposes on the eye a capital element of 10 meters long.
