Richard Döcker was a German architect and a professor associated with the functionalist style in architecture.
In 1927, he was appointed as one of the construction managers of the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart a modern architectural project supervised by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The Weissenhof Estate, built as an international showcase of workers’ housing is composed of 21 buildings by Gropius, Peter Behrens, the Ductch architects J.J.P. Oud and Mart Stam and the Swiss -French modernist pioneer Le Corbusier. The exhibition helped establish the so-called International Style of modern architecture.
