Luigi Cosenza, Bernard Rudofsky, Progretto per una villa, Positano, Italy, 1936
The project was entrusted to two leading figures of architecture following the movement called Rationalism: Luigi Cosenza and Bernard Rudofsky.
The Villa was meant to be in Positano, village on the Almafi Coast in Italy. The architects chose to incorporate interior and exterior in a continuous space, inspired by the natural structure of the ground.
Some areas like the kitchen and the bedrooms are enclosed by thick walls, in contrast to the living room which is opened up to the outside and from which we can see the sea.
