Louis Hermann De Koninck was a Belgian architect and designer. He was one of the leading Belgian architect of the XXth century, representing the rationalist movement. Like many architects of his time, he was part of the CIAM (Congrès international d’Architecture Moderne).

Le Corbusier was the first architect to make the plans of the Villa Canneel in 1929 but finally the project had been replaced by de Koninck’s. Unfortunately the house has been destroyed in 1970.

Looking at the structures of the first floor, a structural wall between the two bedrooms isn’t needed. Therefore the architect used furniture elements to divide the room. This is shown in the model by the use of different materials such as wood representing furniture in contrary to the white walls.
