The Exhibition of Florence in 1965 aimed to show how ex-post verification of the conditions of live in those days at homes not existed.  It was also a test of the spaciousness of houses – that’s what the interior wanted to show.
E. Sottsass’s bedroom held tight to solicit a maximum voltage of color-space. Walls of the room were decorated with  symbolic graphics – for example there was an icon of the sun and the moon. Sottsass offered an unusual solution for the bedroom, completed with furnishing that supports its use during the day. He felt that the idea of making love should be the conscious center of life. So he puts the bed right in the center of the room. That’s why this project is known as: “Camera da fare l’amore”, what means: “Room for making love”.
