Cini Boeri, Abitaziona per una giovane, Milano (Italy), 1978

The abitaziona per una giovane contains a 17 square metres house and is 3.5 metres high. It is designed by Cini Boeri, a Milanese architect and designer. Cini Boeri worked with Gio Ponti and Marco Zanuso before opening her own studio in 1963. Cini Boeri was as well involved as tutor at several Universities. She gave lectures at for instance Berkeley, Detroit, Los Angeles, Milano, São Paulo, Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro. She is famous for her masterpieces as the Ghost chair for FIAM, the Lunario table for Knoll and the Strips modular sofa for Arflex that made her the winner of the Compasso d’Oro in 1979.

Optism, comitment, passion and responsibility describes Cini Boeri’s work that is of great ethical value. She designed a variety of musea, offices, apartments, family homes and shops with major attention to the functional space study and a psychological relationship between the environment and humans. Her attention is given to the satisfaction of the human needs. By doing this she focuses on the connection between user and space. Her concept of housing has always consisted of responsibility and maximum range.
